“the search is over” is a mini-short film that also serves as a commercial for Rentalhunt's revolutionary feature auto-apply.

The plot is based on the pain points of the average renter and presents them in an exaggerated and emotionally heightened way. . Auto-apply is presented as the solution, giving the protagonist a sense of freedom and relief. While the characters haven’t yet found their perfect home, they no longer have to constantly submit applications themselves, freeing them from the usual stress of the search. The search is indeed over and the characters are free to do whatever they like.

By using miniaturized, highly expressive characters, the film turns the ordinary frustrations of renting into a cartoonish scenario. The mundane act of filling out forms, submitting applications, or facing rejections becomes comically dramatic, highlighting the absurdity of the renter’s experience. The exaggerated physical reactions and facial expressions of the characters create a slapstick undertone. By amplifying the characters’ frustrations and turning small setbacks into dramatic, over-the-top events, the story transforms a universally relatable struggle into humor that feels both absurd and entertaining.
